Lewes Framers offers a customised framing service based in the heart of East Sussex.

We can mount and frame any type of artwork - photos, prints, canvas, artefacts and textiles - to any specification, to suit your surroundings and enhance the art.

Framing Specifications

All framing and mount work is performed to conservation level. Full museum grade work is also available for the preservation of original artwork, fine prints and precious documents.

Mounting

All mounting uses conservation mountboard that is buffered with Calcium Carbonate to slow the damage caused by acid and lignens. All materials are pH neutral, meeting Fine Art Trades Guild standards for conservation and budget level framing.

Frames

All frames are handmade using wood from sustainable sources or reforestation projects. Painted frames are finished using water-based paints or varnishes. Natural wooden frames are handfinished with a choice of beeswax, limewax or oil.

Glass

We can offer regular float glass, non-reflective or high UV absorbent glass to protect artwork from the damaging effects of sunlight.
