Lewes Framers offers a customised framing service based in the heart of East Sussex.

We can mount and frame any type of artwork - including photos, prints, canvas, artefacts and textiles - to any specification, to suit the surroundings and enhance the art.

Framing Specifications

All mount work is performed to conservation standard, and museum standard work is also available for the preservation of original artwork, fine prints and precious documents.

All mounting uses board that is buffered with Calcium Carbonate, to slow the damage caused by acid and lignens; and pH neutral, meeting Fine Art Trades Guild standards for conservation and budget level framing.

All frames are handmade using wood from sustainable sources or reforestation projects.

Painted frames are finished using water-based paints or varnishes. Natural wooden frames are handfinished with a choice of beeswax, limewax or oil.

We can offer regular float glass, non-reflective or high UV absorbent glass to protect artwork from the damaging effects of sunlight.
